The DTC Rotary is very proud of all the work that
the TJHS Interact Club has accomplished this year. This group of young
people really exemplifies Rotary’s focus of “Service Above
Self”. This club is continually looking for ways that they can give
back to their school, their own community and the global community.
Their experience with Interact creates many opportunities for each of
them to
develop leadership skills.
INVOLVEMENT WITH HIGH SCHOOL ACTIVITIES:
The TJ Interact Club has volunteered to help special ed
students at TJ learn computer skills. Members give one to one tutoring
to
the special needs students.
Interactors and DECCA members were responsible for a TJ
beautification
project creating planters within the school.
The majority of our club members are also members of the
TJ Student Council, DECCA and athletic teams.
LOCAL COMMUNITY PROJECTS:
Interactors helped deliver Thanksgiving Turkeys to needed
families through the Interfaith Community Service.
The Interact Club gave a Christmas donation of $100
worth of new clothes and food to a needy single mother and daughter.

sort medical supplies.
DISTRICT/INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS:
Students organized a Book Drive for Uganda. 7
large boxes of books were shipped to a school in Uganda this fall.
Interact students organized and collected “Nickels
for Haiti” (This is an on going project )
Pig Out for Polio: During April students will
collect crutches.
Shelter Box: Last spring the club donated $500 of
their funds and this was matched by the DTC Rotary to purchase one
shelter box.
