The Rotary Club of the Denver Tech Center is currently involved in a variety of Community Service projects including:

  • Thomas Jefferson High School Weekend Food Backpack Project
  • Two $2000 College Scholarships for graduating Seniors.
  • Assistance to InterFaith Community Services with holiday foods and gifts.
  • The MDS Counseling Center serves the counseling needs of economically challenged individuals and families.
  • Literacy Playground with Arapahoe Library Friends Foundation. Encouraging children to read and enjoy books is the purpose of Literacy Playgrounds.

 

Previous projects include:

  • “Shots for Tots” Immunization Clinics – Through this program we help newborns thrive and help needy children get the shots they need for school.
  • Lunches for Malnourished Students in the Denver Tech Center area. We provide “backpacks” for weekend meals so that children do not go hungry.
  • Covenant Cupboard Food Bank Contributions.
  • Project Cure. We sort and pack medical supplies for shipment to Uganda, Kenya, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti.
  • The MDS Counseling Center serves the counseling needs of economically challenged individuals and families.
  • Housing and Family Support for Mexican Family in Denver. The Cervera family’s oldest son suffers from Sensory Processing Disorder.  This family of five came to Denver in 2009 for eight weeks of therapy at the STAR Center. We provided financial assistance, friendship, and entertainment for the children during their stay.
  • Scholarships for “Colorado Youth at Risk.” Our support of Colorado Youth at Risk has provided assistance to high school students in the Denver Public Schools who can benefit one-on-one mentoring by dedicated adults.
