District Governor Bill Downes and several members of the Lakewood Foothills Rotary Club visited us today to present our club and the Centennial Club with the George K. Davis Award for the district’s best completed water project of the last two years. Our project, which the Centennial Club helped fund, was for a rain catchment-water storage project in a remote part of northeastern Kenya. Water was collected from a large rock face that had been cleaned and walled off, and funneled to a storage tank for use during the seven month dry season. This prestigious award was given to us over eight other projects. Centennial was represented at the meeting today by its current president, Randy Earnst, and its president-elect, John Berry.
We want to thank Ralph Wilcox for all of his effort and, of course Bob for his insistence that we apply. Ralph, you did a great job and we are so lucky to have you in our club.
